Belgian manufacturer Ticto in Australian hands

Ticto, a Belgian manufacturer of security wearables, is owned by RightCrowd. That Australian company pays 14.2 million euros for the Ghent company.

Ticto has developed a technology that identifies people. The color on the electronic badge indicates which areas each person can enter. The technology was used during the presentation of the Oscars

Ticto was founded in 2013 by Johan Vinckier, the IT executive of Bpost. At the end of last year another 1.7 million euros was raised: money from, among others, LRM, EOS Invest and from Karel and Johan Vinckier itself.

The three founders of Ticto – Maarten Vandenbroucke, Maarten Van Speybroeck and Bart Vansevenant – all three remain active within RightCrowd.

With the takeover RightCrowd has a European base. The Limburg Investment Company (LRM) remains a shareholder after the sale, Datanews knows.
