Spotify wants to stop user accounts with adblocker
No, you must watch these stupid ads!
Spotify wants to remove users who do not have a subscription but use an adblocker to bypass advertisements from the service. That is in the new terms and conditions of the audio platform.
Spotify has been sending warnings to users who are being caught for blocking ads. In doing so, the user is requested to switch off the adblocker if they wish to make use of the streaming service again.
Thus, according to the new terms of service, the warnings may end; users lose their account immediately if Spotify suspects they are using an adblocker.
News agency Reuters noted last year on the basis of financial documents from Spotify that about two million people use an adblocker when they use the platform.
