New iPad to retain fingerprint scanner and headphone input
The new generation of the Apple iPad that will be released this year retains the same design as its predecessor. That writes the Japanese website Mac Otakara.
Apple would release a new version of its cheapest iPad this year. This model of 359 euros, according to recent rumors, keeps its 9.7-inch screen. Earlier, the well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the device would get a screen of 10.2 inches, because the edges around the display would become thinner.
The iPad would still contain a fingerprint scanner in the edge below the screen. Apple replaced Touch ID on the new iPad Pro models with a 3D face scanner. The 9.7-inch version of the iPad would also keep its headphone connection, reports sources from Mac Otakara.
It is not known when Apple announces the new iPads. In addition to an updated version of the regular iPad, a new variant of the iPad mini would also be presented. That model with a 7.9 inch screen has not received a new version since 2015.
