Volkswagen postpones the start of the truck branch

Volkswagen is not bringing its Traton truck division to the stock market for the time being. The automaker points to the market conditions as a reason. As soon as they become more favorable, it is still the intention that Traton will be listed on the stock exchange.

Volkswagen had been planning the IPO for quite some time. In addition, the German brand would sell part of the shares in the truck branch. According to earlier reports, the automaker would like to offer up to a quarter of the shares. VW should have delivered around 6 billion euros. VW’s financial director Frank Witter says he regrets the delay.

Traton includes the European truck brands MAN and Scania. The Brazilian brand Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus and fleet manager RIO also fall under the company.
