Norsk Hydro Aluminum giant hit by cyber attack
Norsk Hydro, one of the world’s largest aluminum producers, has been hit by a major cyber attack. Production is disrupted at various locations in Europe and the United States, reports the Norwegian company.
The attack hit the central IT system of the multinational Monday night, after which troubles were spread to many locations in different countries. A number of factories have been temporarily shut down. Certain production processes that are normally automated are, where applicable, done manually.
It is still unclear the extent of damage caused by the cyber attack.
