WhatsApp tests forwarding stat
WhatsApp tests a function that shows the app how often a message was forwarded, WABetaInfo discovered in a beta version of the chat app on Android phones.
A message that has been shared five times or more is indicated in the beta of WhatsApp as “often forwarded.” That label can be seen by both the recipient and the sender of the message.
The exact number is displayed on the Message Information screen. Only the channel can view this number.
It is not known when the position will be officially rolled out for everyone. WABetaInfo states that it will in any case be included in the next beta version of the chat service.
The function is supposed to provide more insight into the distribution of fake news. Since last year, users are notified when they receive a forwarded message. In January of this year, WhatsApp also said that there would be a restriction on the number of forwarding times.
