Why every Google will end up in Microsoft’s catch?

People with an Android phone will soon see more search apps and browsers that they can use. Google is forced to suggest its rivals.

Google hopes that this step will meet the demands of the European Commission. It found that Google was too dominant with Google Search and the Chrome browser. They are set by default on devices with the Android operating system, which is also from Google. About four in five phones in the world run on Android.

Google will soon be publishing an update for Android. When users subsequently go to the Play Store, they are shown the alternatives. They can choose browsers such as Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Opera, and search engines such as Qwant, Ecosia and DuckDuck Go. If a user chooses a different search engine, they can set it as the default search engine in Chrome.
