ASUS presents ZenFone 6 with a reversing camera component

The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer ASUS announced on Thursday its newest smartphone, the ZenFone 6. The device tries to distinguish itself with a camera component that can be rotated up to 180 degrees and can therefore serve as a regular camera and selfie camera.

The rotating camera part has two lenses. The main one offers a resolution one of 48 megapixels. With the second camera lens, of 13 megapixels, photos can be made in 125 degrees.

The camera can be stopped at any time, allowing the user to take photos from a different angle. Because the selfie camera is actually located at the back via this mechanism, the ZenFone 6 has a screen-filling front without notch. It is a 6.4-inch LCD screen.

In addition, the smartphone is equipped with a Snapdragon 855 chip with 6 GB or 8 GB of memory and 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB storage capacity. The device also has a battery of 5,000 mAh.

The ZenFone 6 will cost 499.99 euros for the variant with a working memory of 6 GB and storage memory of 64 GB. For the double storage capacity of 128 GB, users pay 50 euros more. The version with 8 GB of memory and 256 GB storage capacity costs 599.99 euros. It is not yet clear when the ZenFone 6 will be sold in the Netherlands.
