LG is developing a chip for IoT artificial intelligence

LG has developed its own chip for artificial intelligence. The chip is intended for smart devices in the household, the company announces.

The South Korean company has not disclosed many details about the chip. It is clear, however, that the chip works with LG’s Neural Engine for processing deep learning algorithms.

With the AI Chip, according to LG, it should be better possible for household appliances to recognize locations, objects and users. In addition, voices can be better distinguished from background noise. The company supplies smart vacuum cleaners and refrigerators, among other things.

The chip works without an internet connection. LG says the chip uses improved security to ensure that personal data is better protected against hackers.
