Electric Audi catches fire, model recalled
Audi calls his first fully electric car back to the garage. The E-Tron can catch fire due to a defect. As far as we know, no accidents have occurred yet.
In total it concerns 1650 cars. Currently, only 540 of the brand new SUVs have been delivered to customers in the United States and Germany, the rest are still at dealers.
The recall is relatively small, but because it is the first fully electric car from Audi, it is still a big damper for the subsidiary brand of automaker Volkswagen. With the E-Tron, Audi explicitly wanted to compete with the maker of electric cars, Tesla.
