Trump is slowing down with tariff increases

President Donald Trump is putting plans for higher import tariffs for Chinese-made products on hold for the time being. The American promised in a message on Twitter that he would refrain from raising the rates from 25 to 30 percent. There was already speculation about this before the weekend.

In fact, the import tariffs would be increased in two steps, starting on 15 October. The US reached a shared agreement with China on Friday. A formal signature must still be put under that.

Part of the agreements is that China buys more agricultural products from the US. According to president, work is being done immediately by Beijing.
