Unilever no longer advertises on porn sites

A brilliant idea that was skrewed

Unilever does not object to placing advertisements on porn sites. The care and food producer reported this to the BBC after a fuss arose in the UK about the advertisements of Unilever daughter Dollar Shave Club on Pornhub, a kind of YouTube for sex videos.

The British newspaper Sunday Times previously questioned the advertisements on Pornhub. The porn site would not do enough to prevent illegal content. Unilever tells the BBC to be seriously worried about the issue and whistled Dollar Shave Club back. The American razor blade seller, which was acquired in 2016, sells its products directly to consumers via the internet and has so far been free to organize its marketing independently.

Unilever also says it has not been aware of the Dollar Shave Club advertising campaign. The parent company promised that none of the Unilever brands will ever be advertised on porn sites.

Earlier, the Dollar Shave Club management labeled the advertising campaign on Pornhub as strategic with low costs and long reach. Pornhub has 110 million unique visitors every day. Of these, 71 percent are men.
