Armed man kills six people in the Czech Republic hospital
In an hospital in the Czech city of Ostrava, an armed man shot at least six people. There are also several wounded. Around 7 a.m. the man entered the waiting room of an outpatient clinic of the academic hospital in Ostrava and immediately opened fire. He then fled.
Special police units later found a man in the car in Ostrava who had shot himself in the head; it is investigated whether he is the wanted suspect. As a precaution, the security of hospitals, schools, shopping centers and airports was tightened up throughout the country.
The victims are probably patients. Other people in the hospital have been brought to safety. Ostrava is located in the northeast of the Czech Republic and is the third largest city in the country.
