Nokia waits for the easing of quarantine measures
The Finnish maker of telecom equipment Nokia has lowered its expectations for this year. The company is having trouble getting its products to customers due to the corona pandemic. Some customers have also postponed investments.
First quarter sales decreased 2.4 percent to 4.9 billion euros. There was no decline in demand for Nokia’s products in the first three months. In many countries where a lockdown applies, mobile traffic actually increased as much as 30 percent.
Nokia sees opportunities to improve the delivery of its equipment if the lockdown is relaxed in several countries. Customers may also review their investments again.
