Boeing requested new 737MAX tests in an attempt to get certification

Boeing reportedly wants troubled aircraft 737 MAX to be tested again at the end of this month. Then there should be a special certification flight where authorities can scrutinize the plane, reports Bloomberg news agency based on insiders.

The exact date for this flight with pilots of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) behind control stick is not yet finalized. Boeing would also have to finalize a number of things before the test can actually take place, the sources said.

The 737 MAX was the aircraft manufacturer’s best-selling aircraft, until two aircraft crashed in quick succession due to a control error. Hundreds of people died in both accidents. In March 2019, it was decided that the aircraft should no longer be used for the time being. Since then, devices of the type have been grounded worldwide for safety reasons. Boeing has been working with aviation authorities on a solution for some time.
