US consumer confidence is on the right track

Americans’ confidence in the economy increased in June from a month earlier. However, the figure turned out lower than in an earlier estimate. That was announced by the University of Michigan on the basis of final figures on its index that measures consumer confidence.

The index reached a final level of 78.1 against 72.3 in May. A provisional estimate reported a level of 78.9. Economists generally expected this figure to be revised to 79.2.
