Airbus is trying to settle a trade conflict between the EU and the US

The European Union and the US government have been upset about these subsidies for years. Last year, the World Trade Organization (WTO) approved the Americans and authorized the importation of $ 7.5 billion in European exports to be subject to criminal charges. The United States made use of this option, including levies on cheeses.

Brussels made itself heard immediately after the step by Airbus. European Commissioner Phil Hogan demanded on Friday that the Americans stop their sanctions because Airbus would now be back in line with WTO rules.

“Unfounded tariffs for European products are not acceptable and as a result of compliance in the Airbus case, we insist that the United States immediately lift these unjustified tariffs,” said Hogan, who speaks to the European Commission on Trade.
