Demand for the Switch console is very high

Nintendo looks for options to increase production

The Japanese maker of games and game computers Nintendo is going to step up the production of its Switch console in order to meet the strong demand. That’s what Bloomberg press office writes Based on sources. Nintendo benefits from home stay-at-home players who have gone more gaming during the corona crisis and from the popular game Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which means that demand for the Switch is very high.

The company has now told its assembly partners to increase the production of the console to up to 30 million units in this current financial year. Previously, Nintendo had set its production target at 25 million, but this appears to be insufficient to meet demand.

In the last quarter, Nintendo saw a very sharp increase in profits and turnover, due to the success of the March-release Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the Switch during Coronation time.
