Pompeo cancels visits to Mongolia an S.Korea
After president Trump contracted COVID-19 the US Secretary of State Pompeo made his planned trip to Asia. He will go to Japan alone and cancels visits to Mongolia and South Korea.
Pompeo’s getting on a plane to Tokyo today. He was supposed to stay in Asia until Thursday, but he is already returning on Tuesday. In Tokyo he will speak with, among others, his counterparts from Japan, India and Australia.
In a statement, the U.S. State Department says they’re looking for new dates for the deleted visits. Pompeo probably travels back to Asia later this month.
