Apple TV will feature WeWork story
On demand Video service AppleTV is going to perpetuate the debacle around the fall of office rental company WeWork into a miniseries. Actor Jared Leto crawls into the skin of former WeWork boss Adam Neumann, actress Anne Hathaway plays his wife and co-founder of WeWork, Rebekah.
The miniseries receive the title ‘WeCrashed: The Rise And Fall of WeWork’ and follows “the avarice-filled March and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of the world’s most valuable startups, and the chaotic love of the narcissists who made it all possible”, AppleTV commends the series.
WeWork was founded in 2010. Up until last year, the company was listed as a growth gazebo, but in pursuing a IPO, investors found out that the company wasn’t exactly profitable. As a result, the company’s rating plummeted dramatically. In January 2019, the company was still valued at 47 billion dollars, after the fuss, it was worth only 8 billion dollars. Topman Neumann also fell into disrepute because, among other things, he gave his family important positions and bought real estate with his own company, which he then sold to WeWork.
In april 2020, we brought Company, the parent company WeWork, its largest shareholder, SoftBank Group to justice. The Japanese investor waived an investment of USD 3 billion in additional WeWork shares. In doing so, SoftBank has violated an existing contract, we find the Company, which wants compensation if SoftBank does not buy shares after all.
