Google will work with Ford on connected vehicles project

By getting (your) personal data from all Ford cars

Ford will work with Google since 2023. Ford will, among other things, take cloud services from Google. The tech company in turn will share knowledge of the processing of data, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning with Ford. The two companies intend to speed up the development of so-called ‘Connected Vehicles’, whereby cars communicate with other vehicles, but also with traffic lights and with Ford systems.

Google will also provide its Android operating system as a basis for the information and entertainment system of Ford vehicles and that of sister brand Lincoln. For example, these standard Google apps are built in and they are going to use Google Maps as the basis for navigation.

The cooperation between Ford and Google will initially last six years. Financial details were not disclosed.
