Indonesian Navy lost a submarine with the crew of 53 people on board
North of Bali, an Indonesian navy submarine is missing. There are 53 people on board. The submarine is believed to have sunk, says army spokesman Hadi Tjahjanto today on the side Compass.
The submarine did a torpedo drill, but was unable to report the results. According to the army, contact with the submarine broke off around 4: 30 a.m. local time. The submarine was located about 95 kilometers from the island of Bali.
Ships of the Indonesian Navy have started a search. Singapore and Australia have also been asked for help because they have lifeboats for submarines.
