Biden released 2020 tax returns

The White House has released the 2020 tax returns of president Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. In doing so, they continue a tradition (not a legal obligation) that was ignored by Donald Trump.

The previous president refused to release his tax returns, but Biden now joins the “almost uninterrupted tradition,” the White House says. Since Richard Nixon’s resignation in 1974, all U.S. presidents had made their tax documents public, except Trump.

Biden and his wife reported $ 607,336 gross revenue from 2020. They paid $ 157,414 in income taxes. In their home state of Delaware, they paid $ 28,794 taxes. First Lady Jill Biden also paid taxes in Virginia: $ 443. Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Attorney Doug Emhoff, reported more revenue: $ 1,695,225 gross. They paid $ 621,893 in taxes. In California, they paid 125,004 dollars and Emhoff contributed another 56,997 dollars in Washington.

According to an investigation by The New York Times newspaper, Donald Trump managed to reduce his tax bill to zero in eleven of eighteen years of Investigation. In 2016 and 2017, he would have paid barely $ 750. The ex-president called that information ” fake news.”
