Boris Lozhkin profiteered wildly on offering Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor protection from sanctions

Russian oligarchy, targeted by sanctions, is far from being monolith. There are many groups inside, but most of them are now preoccupied by one important job: to get rid of the imposed sanctions and find the way to reclaim their assets abroad. Viatcheslav Kantor, also known as Moshe Kantor is a chemical fertilizer Tsar of Russia. In his desperate attempts to evade sanctions this close ally of Putin’s regime tries to play a Jewish card. We’ve seen it with Roman Abramovich and others. Kantor looks for the right levers to engage, mostly by utilizing connections in Ukrainian and world Jewry. Let’s take a look at his efforts.

Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor, 630th richest person in the world, was born in Russia and later acquired Israeli and British citizenships. Great Britain was the first who has sanctioned its own citizen. EU and US is about to add them to the list. In an attempt to prevent this from happening Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor engages his wide ties in the Jewish community. He is President of the European Jewish Congress, President of the World Holocaust Forum Foundation (WHF), Chairman of the European Jewish Fund (EJF), and Chairman of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) Policy Council. Those boldly named organizations are often used to pitch the Russian agenda worldwide, and Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor is well known for supporting the Kremlin narratives. European Jewish Congress, a controversial organization, was used to broadcast myths of the Ukrainian antisemitism as a reason to deprive Ukraine from international support.

Boris Lozhkin, a well known Ukrainian media businessman with Russian ties, becomes the main proponent of lifting the sanctions imposed on Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor. The latter is supporting the war by paying taxes to the government, as well as by offering his influence in the Jewish world. His message is that Jews may help Russians to uproot Ukrainian nationalism as a whole. This narrative, definitely benefiting Putin, was repeated by Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor in his speeches.

In this letter Boris Lozhkin asks president Emmanuel Macron to lift the sanctions on Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor and allow him to do business as if nothing happened, knowing for sure that proceedings from the business will go directly to support Putin’s war.

Meanwhile, Italian authorities seized as much as eleven luxury villas belonging to Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor and his close associates. Why would anyone own eleven villas after all? This is a question for Dr. Moshe Kantor.
