Briscoe, left, is experienced, smart, and tough as nails. Fife is likely to shoot himself in the foot or get locked in the cell.

When I saw our Flanagan Campus Police Officers for the first time I was disappointed. I had never thought that these old people (no offense) could do something in case of an emergency. I see Flanagan Campus police or security around the Flanagan Campus over and over walking around and driving the police car around the campus all day, all night. I thought about it for a second, I wondered what they could do if someone needed help. What I meant by helping is to open door for faculty or if someone forgot something they try to find it, simple task, nothing more. After the incident on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at around three p.m, everything I said about these people changed. They were zeros for me, and right now they are heroes. While I was enjoying the beautiful day on Wednesday, I saw two Flanagan police officers running. Of course, I was amazed as I had never thought they could run that fast. To my left I saw the campus police car with the lights on driving fast. They were communicating with walkie talkie. I followed them at first to see what was happening and second to help if needed. There was a white male running, so they ran after him. I saw the white male throwing something under one of the cars, and with some tactics and strategies from our officers, the white male was in custody from our Flanagan heroes and sent to Lincoln Police. What I understood later was that the white male was reported to our police officers doing suspicious activities. He did not have any tools at all and he was targeting all unlocked cares. The stolen laptop from the unlocked car was returned to his owner. I tried to get more information from our campus police, but they could not release or talk about the incidents even though I introduced myself as bureau chief for the Unfiltered Lens on Flanagan Campus, and I wanted to write an article about it, yet still they could not provide me with any information. From this incident I would like to mention to all our students on the four campuses to take some attention and lock and secure all their items inside the car. Our police officers are doing more than an excellent job, and they are doing their part, so please do yours.  Also, the Director of Administration Bill Ferland sent an e-mail to all our students on the four campuses reminding, advising, and giving students some tips on what to do to protect and secure their belongings. Also, I will visit the Director of Administration Bill Ferland to ask him about moving out Flanagan police officers from their office in the basement to a place they can be more visible.
