Huawei still waits for blacklist removal

The Chinese telecom giant Huawei wants the United States to really take the company off the blacklist. That said chairman Liang Hua Friday at a meeting in China.

According to the manager, the situation with regard to Huawei has not changed “substantially” since US President Donald Trump indicated that the heavy export restrictions around Huawei were weakening. The Americans blacklisted the company because Huawei “would pose a threat to national security”. Washington suspects Huawei of close ties with the Chinese government and accuses the company of espionage practices.

The trade conflict between the two economic superpowers also played a role in the background. Despite the pressure on the company, Huawei saw its income grow in the first half of the year, the chairman said without further concretising this.
