Amazon under fire for selling Auschwitz Christmas decorations

“Disturbing and disrespectful”: that’s what the Auschwitz Museum in Poland calls Christmas decorations with photos of the extermination camp for sale on Amazon. After the museum subsequently criticized social media yesterday, a storm of protest followed.

“Selling” Christmas decorations “with photos of Auschwitz is not really appropriate,” wrote the museum’s official account with some screenshots of the offending products. “Auschwitz on a bottle opener is disturbing and disrespectful. We ask Amazon to remove the items from these providers.”

The products, it seems, were sold by a third party through Amazon and not by the company itself.
