The sea cruise industry goes on hold until September
Cruise companies will certainly not be cruising from ports in the United States until September 15 due to the corona virus. This was announced by industry organization Cruise Lines International Association. These include the major US carriers Carnival, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line, as well as many other cruise operators.
“While we are confident that future cruises will be healthy and safe, with all precautions, we also believe it is prudent to exercise caution for the sake of our passengers and crew,” the organization wrote in a statement.
The U.S. government had imposed a cruise ban until July 24.
Carnival and Norwegian had already said that they will not sail cruises until at least October and that they will anchor the fleet in the coming months. The cruise industry has been hit extremely hard by the coronavirus outbreak, with billions of losses.
