Bolsonaro: Economic consequences are more deadly than COVID-19

Brazilian President Bolsonaro has in a video message to the people emphasized that he wants to open the economy again, despite the corona virus. “We can’t keep choking the economy,” he said.

Bolsonaro himself is infected with the virus and has been widely criticized for not taking the health crisis seriously enough. Brazil is one of the countries where the number of infections has risen sharply recently. As for now more than 2 millions Brazilians were infected and 76 thousands died.

Although universally praised quarantine measures weren’t able to stop the disease from spreading. Recent data suggest that the COVID-19 is airborne.
