Russian ambassador denies allegations of cyber-attacks

The Russian ambassador to the United Kingdom denies that Russian hackers are carrying out cyber attacks on institutions that are working on a corona vaccine. Security forces in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada said last Thursday that the hackers are almost certainly part of the Russian security forces. Moscow immediately denied any involvement.

In an interview with the BBC, ambassador Andrej Kelin says that he does not believe the story at all and that it is based on nothing. “I have read about it in British media. It is impossible to attribute hacks to countries at this time.”

The three countries accused hacker group APT29 of the attack. The unit is also known as Cozy Bear. They would try to collect “valuable data” on vaccine studies. It is not known whether data was actually stolen, or if it was any data at all.
