Amazon hires more staff, building new office in Bellevue

Amazon plans to hire another 10,000 additional employees for its office location in Bellevue, near Seattle, United States. This means that the number of employees in Bellevue will have to rise to 25,000 in the coming years.

Amazon is building new office space and skyscrapers in Bellevue, east of Seattle, where the internet giant’s headquarters are located. The company currently employs 3,000 employees in Bellevue and 50,000 employees in Seattle, Washington, in the northwest of the United States. Amazon is also developing a second headquarters in the state of Virginia in the east of the country, in the city of Arlington. In ten years ‘ time, 25 000 workers will have to work there.

Amazon is working on a significant increase in the workforce this year, partly to meet the rising online sales due to the coronacrisis. On Thursday, for example, it became clear that the group intends to employ 7000 additional permanent workers in Britain. This would increase the British workforce of Amazon to over 40,000.
