Shell will gradually close Convent refinery
Shell will soon gradually close its refinery in Convent in the U.S. State of Louisiana. Earlier this month, the oil and gas group announced their intention to close the site after no oil was found for the refinery.
According to Shell, no timeline has yet been set for the closure. The refinery is worth 211,000 barrels a day. Shell said that the closure decision is linked to the strategy to invest in core sites. There are about 700 people working at the refinery in Convent.
