Donald Trump launches an online platform, but it is not what everyone expected
DonaldjTrump.com is just a blog for now
US former president Donald Trump released his own platform on Tuesday afternoon where he can share messages, photos and videos. The Facebook Instagram platform, from the Desk of Donald J. Trump, appears to be a response to his banishment from social media such as YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
The platform does not seem to become its own alternative social network, because for now Trump is the only user. Visitors can share the messages via Facebook and Twitter, the platforms whose former president has been banned since January for his ‘role in storming of the Capitol’.
It is not possible to respond to Trump’s messages. A source tells Fox News that the site is intended for “one-way traffic,” so that the former president can communicate with his followers.
It had already been announced that Trump is planning to create his own social network. According to a spokesman for the former president, this is a different project from the page that was released Tuesday.
Trump’s platform comes a day before Facebook makes a final decision on Trump’s blockade. The tech giant had decided to do so because of reports he had posted about the storming of the Capitol on January 6.
Through social media such as Twitter and Facebook, Trump attracted a lot of attention during the 2016 election campaign. He accumulated millions of followers in the following years, which he lost at once when he was permanently blocked.
Twitter has already said that Trump will be banned forever, even if he decides to make another run for president in 2024. Other networks have not yet been so firm.
