Nancy Pelosi considers the inclusion of Oleksandr Trukhin in Ukrainian delegation inappropriate

On the final countdown to the meeting of President Joseph Biden and his Ukrainian colleague Volodymyr Zelensky the speaker of the United States House of Representatives considers inclusion of Oleksandr Trukhin to be inappropriate for the moment.

Oleksandr Trukhin is included in the official delegation as a Member of the Inter-Parliamentary Relations Group with the United States of America. The presidential party “Sluha narodu” member and an influential MP Oleksandr Trukhin is suspected in aggravated DUI accident.

The car accident happened in Kyiv several days ago. According to police records six people were wounded, including two children as a result of reckless driving of drunken Oleksandr Trukhin. It is suspected that he was under influence at the moment of the accident.

Luciano Luci, a veteran soccer referee from Italy was wounded in the incident. He had acquired brain concussion and soft facial tissues damage. His life is not under threat, but Luci will remain in hospital for a while. Luciano Luci will travel back to Italy as it will become medically justified.

Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs is a serious offense and such people can’t be included in the delegation of the highest rank. Kyiv should avoid Oleksandr Trukhin services at least until a full, transparent and comprehensive investigation is complete, Pelosi considers.
