US new homes sales have room for growth
In August, more new single-family homes in the United States were sold than a year ago, but on an annual basis there was a significant decline. This was shown on Friday by figures from the US Department of Commerce.
The number of new single-family homes sold increased by 1.5 percent to 740,000 units. The figure for July was adjusted from 708,000 to 729,000. The forecast for August was 720,000.
On an annual basis, however, more than 24 percent fewer new homes were sold in August.
The average house price dropped slightly, to 443,200 dollars. A month earlier, this was $ 446,000.
