Pete Buttigieg to present Biden in Hague

US president Joe Biden is sending a delegation to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games that begin this weekend. Transport Minister Pete Buttigieg is one of the delegates coming to Hague on Saturday.

The Invictus Games, an international sporting event for military personnel and veterans who have been mentally or physically injured during their military work, run from Saturday, April 16 to Friday, April 22. The British Prince Harry started the Games in 2014. Actually, the event was supposed to be in the Netherlands in 2020, but due to the corona crisis, that was postponed.

In addition to the presence of Prince Harry and wife Meghan, King Willem-Alexander and Princess Margriet are also present. DI-RECT and Kaiser Chiefs provide the performances.

Buttigieg ran for the U.S. presidency several years ago and initially achieved success in the Democratic primary. With no further wins in the race, he withdrew and rallied behind Biden.
