US urges citizens to leave Russia ‘immediately’

It's not a first call and it's not because the Third World War is on the plate

“U.S. citizens living or traveling in Russia should leave immediately,” the U.S. Embassy in Moscow writes. U.S. citizens are also urged not to travel to the country.

Due to the risk of arbitrary arrest or harassment by Russian authorities, the embassy once again calls for an immediate departure from the country. In addition, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the embassy in Moscow to help us citizens in Russia.

This is not the first time the embassy has issued such a statement. In September last year, after Russian president Putin announced a partial mobilization, the US also called on its citizens to leave the country.
